Celebrating Female Artists on International Women's Day

hollymoellercreati

International Women’s Day is a chance to celebrate women’s achievements. And so, I could think of no better way to do that than to share with you some of the female artists I look up to. Women who have taken their creative calling and run with it, giving joy and beauty to the world in the process. Women who have a direct impact on me and my creative practice and business journey.

I can’t wait to introduce them to you.

1.        Stacie Bloomfield, Illustrator and Founder of Gingiber

Stacie is a mum, artist and entrepreneur based in the United States. She founded Gingiber while juggling full time coffee shop work and a young baby… ten years later she is a wildly successful illustrator and teaches other women how to live creatively abundant lives too.

Stacie is enthusiastic, brimming with positive energy, and full of encouragement for women. Here is a selection of art prints from her website showcasing female empowerment.

2.        Amie McNee, Writer and Founder of Inspired To Write

Amie is a creative coach who encourages people of all genders to take their art seriously. She is a powerful speaker with a rebellious nature – her podcasts are authentic and raw (and involve a healthy dose of swear words!).

Amie helps others find permission within themselves to step off the beaten track and dare to do something a little different.

3.        Morgan Harper Nichols, Writer and Creator of The Storyteller App

Morgan is a creative powerhouse whose work combines digital art, storytelling, poetry, creative writing and more. She is best known for her social media presence, where she shares daily encouraging affirmations with beautifully artistic backgrounds and illustrations. Her work is uplifting, soul-enriching and full of hope.

Here is one of her recent poems she shared on Instagram to celebrate her 34th birthday:

There are so many ways

things can take shape in your life,

but perhaps, for all that is unknown,

that doesn’t mean it can’t be beautiful.

Perhaps, even though the waiting

asks a lot of you, this is also true:

here will be new beginnings

and good things that are worthwhile, too.

I cannot tell you it will be easy,

and I cannot tell you it will come together

in a perfect way,

but I can tell you

there will be sunrises,

people worth knowing and loving,

and abundant encounters with boundless grace.

For all that has changed,

may there be room

for a new way forward

to emerge in an unexpected,

yet beautiful way.
