I started illustrating book maps because I was often disappointed with modern maps when reading (I grew up spoiled with LOTR maps and suchlike). Often I find today's maps feel computerised and a little dull, where I want that feeling of magic, mystery and adventure. So I created my own hand-illustrated map for my first novel, and have been designing them ever since!

Priced at £750 for standard map with licensing permission for self-published or traditionally published books. Includes merchandise rights for five years.
Maps Process
1. Order your commission through the website or get in touch with me.
2. I will email you to ask questions about your project.
3. If you have not ordered through the website, we both sign a licensing contract and I send an invoice for 50% deposit. You send some chapters for me to read.
4. Joint brainstorming session where we discuss your world's geography.
5. You create a VERY rough sketch and provide list of locations + labels for the map. I create one or two design pathways for you to sign off on.
6. I create the major draft in pencil and send it to you for feedback. Major and minor edits can still be made at this stage.
7. I create final piece in ink. Minor elements may be added at this point.
8. If you have not already paid in full, the remaining 50% fee is paid at this point.
9. I send you the final digital files and ship/deliver the framed and mounted original to you.
10. Celebrate! Enjoy your framed map and use your files in accordance with the licensing contract.
