Artist Bio

Holly Moeller is a British painter based in the countryside of Lancashire. She creates colourful illustrations working in watercolour, gouache and pen exploring themes of hope, simplicity, home and ‘the good life’.
Holly’s childhood holidays were spent walking in the Dorset or Welsh countryside, and ever since, she longed to live in a rural setting when she grew up.
After earning both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in History at the University of Cambridge—where she was a Cambridge Trust scholar—she trained for two years as a priest in the Church of England at Trinity College Bristol.
However, in 2022, Holly experienced a mental and physical health breakdown. During her recovery, Holly returned to her primary love of art as a way of healing and finding agency.
Soon, Holly began working on her craft intensively, exploring wet-on-dry technique and experimenting with instinctive doodle penwork.
After receiving wonderful feedback and praise, she eventually started taking enquiries for commission. Over the next few years Holly developed her signature playful, scrappy style and founded her illustration studio - Kettle & Quill.
Holly is a recognised watercolour artist and has received grants and scholarships from a variety of British art institutions, such as the Greater Manchester Inspire Fund. She has been shortlisted for several international art awards, including the Wraptious Art Competition.
Her work has been exhibited in both commercial galleries and shows throughout the country, such as the Harrogate Flower Show. She has collaborated with well known brands, including Fat Face and Amie McNee, and her work can be found in many private collections around the world. She is represented by Number Ten Gallery and part of the organising committee for the annual Syke Arts and Crafts Exhibition.
